Eastbrook United Methodist Church - Eastbrook PA

Text Coming Soon!

In 1847 a small group of Methodists began meeting in the Briar Hill School west of the growing settlement of Eastbrook. In March 1851 the congregation, with the intention of building a church, purchased some property across the street from the school. It was on this property, once owned by the late William and Martha Painter, that a small church was soon erected. The congregation met here for almost three decades until it was decided to build a new church at another location. After a debate about where to relocate, a new church (shown above) was completed in the thriving village of Eastbrook in 1881. In the ensuing decades a full basement was added, a small education wing was constructed, and a parsonage was built next door. The church often shared a pastor with several other churches and did not have its own fulltime pastor until the 1950’s. In 1968 a national reorganization saw the congregation become known as the Eastbrook United Methodist Church. In 1997 the congregation celebrated its 150th anniversary and it’s still in active service today. In 2000 the church purchased property nearby to the south where a new parsonage and the Eastbrook Mission Barn, utilized in part as a storage center for relief supplies, are located. 2. I emailed Rev. Thayer about officiating a wedding in Butler on Sunday, May 24, 2015. I have attending the programs at your church to watch my niece. I have known Brian, Joyce and the Deans for years. I have no home church but have enjoyed the prayer and camaraderie of East Brook Methodist and am hoping Pastor Thayer can make our ceremony a blessed event. We are an older couple. I am not sure if my INITIAL message was sent from your specific site earlier today. Please respond at your earliest convenience.
    Thank you!

  3. What wonderful memories I have at the church. Was baptized there as well as brother Charles and sisters Isabel and Elizabeth. The church provided our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and also one time I remember Santa ( Mr. Anderson) came to our house in a sleigh pulled by horse.. When ever I go back I visit the church and there are still members that I grew up with in that church. My heart is always in that church.
