Bill Henry's Lunch Room - Wampum PA

Text Coming Soon!

William W. “Bill” Henry (possibly in white hat) operated a restaurant – and then a confectionary and cigar shop – in Wampum for a number of years in the early 1900’s. Bill, one of several sons of Irish immigrant Robert Henry and his wife Sarah, was born in Big Beaver Township in 1884. He later worked as a coal miner and resided in New Castle. I believe he passed away in Olmsted Falls, OH, at the age of eighty in 1964. (c1920) Full Size

Bill Henry – near right end of back row in white shirt holding his young son Weldon – hosts a bunch of local boys in his restaurant that are about to ship out for military service during the Great War (World War I). It was a time of great patriotism! (1917) Full Size
